AmeriCorps VISTA Program

We are also proud to be a partner with the Corporation for National & Community Service as a sponsor of AmeriCorps *VISTA Volunteers (www.americorps.gov).

We recruit AmeriCorps *VISTA members to work on various projects including our Prison Reentry initiative, 21st Century Community Learning Center after-school program funded Title 1 of the U.S. Department of Education and workforce development projects, particularly our Youth Training Initiative with the Delaware Workfirce Investment Board.

AmeriCorps *VISTA members work full-time and receive monthly stipends, health insurance, and a cash award or educational award at the end of their one year term of service. Relocation assistance is also available.

For details on AmeriCorps *VISTA benefits please click here. VISTA volunteers are not federal emplyees, nor are they employees of the agencies where they are placed. Because the mission of AmeriCorps *VISTA is to eradicate poverty, volunteers receive a modest housing allowance in the form of a stipend that allows them to experience living at the poverty level while being able to address basic needs.
